jimtwosnakes.net Hello my friends, this is the week’s reading for my followers and Patreon supporters for the week of August 29th, 2021. And if you are already a Patreon supporter, thank you so much! This week the advanced version of my rowboat reading using the Witches Wisdom tarot. Where We Sit is the 7 of Earth, which is about untamed animal power, creativity, physicality. Very lusty and embodied. What We Are Leaving Behind is the 4 of Water reversed. Leaving behind things can sometimes be very good indeed. In this case feelings of betrayal, anger, and loneliness. The Left Oar (the subconscious) is the 8 of Water. Listen to your instincts and your true nature. Your deep authentic self is guiding you. The Right Oar (the thinking mind) is the 5 of Water. Recognizing the consequences of your actions and taking responsibility for them. Where We Are Going is the 9 of Earth reversed. This card can have to do with knowing your body and so it could also be about ignoring your body, which might be additional info for the 7 of Earth. But it can also have to do with being disconnected from your support network. The Rocks (what we need to beware of), is the Ancestors. Curious. I’m going to wait to see what the last card gives us, but it is the only Major Arcana card. The Lighthouse (to guide us) is the 2 of Air reversed. Trusting yourself, the divine breath and allowing yourself to be vulnerable in its upright position, reversed might imply that we are feeling a little too vulnerable. Combined, I feel like there are a couple things we should be looking at. The smaller of the two is physical. We might be feeling good, but we need to pay attention to our bodies. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t push yourself. Also realize we all have genetic predispositions, so don’t discount them when dealing with your health. The other message I think is the difficulty in ancestral or family relations. You are trying to leave behind feeling betrayed, you are doing your best to listen to your instincts and to understand the consequences of your actions. But deep down that time that relative was cruel or even just dismissive still affects you. They said there was something wrong with you or your behaviour and even though you have worked on it, part of you still believes them. Maybe part of you is waiting for friends to betray you the same way. The “they never liked me” voice. So this week might be really uncomfortable because you might have to accept feeling vulnerable, not to the people who betrayed you, but vulnerable to your chosen family now. It’s OK to feel vulnerable sometimes, the messages about you that you were raised with can contain false information about your true worth Magical Work Where we combine aspects of our lives is really powerful. Magical work, emotional work, intellectual work, physical work can all overlap. As the book title states, the body keeps score. Find where in your body stagnant energy or heavy emotions are stuck. Take a few deep beats, ground and center. Then walk. It can be around your house, yard or a park, but get some movement going as best as you can for your physical condition. Focus on your breath, and with each breath feel that energy move. Feel your heartbeat and your blood move. Allow the movement and the cycle of breath to assist the heaviness in leaving your body. Make sure you cleanse your energy afterwards. Lemon balm seems very appropriate.

And if you are already a Patreon supporter, thank you so much! I would just like to take a moment to acknowledge that last week was very difficult. Several people, including one of my best friends, lost family members. So a moment of not speaking for them. This week I am once again using the 6 card Week Ahead spread but this time with the Starman tarot. The first card is How Can We Manage Our Resources Well This Week? Answer is the Ace of Wands. The ace is usually talking about flashes of creative insight and moments of passion, so this could very easily be telling us that we are going to need to exercise creativity this week as an outlet. I’m tending to think of this as a bit more literal though. Like a visit to Hogwarts the key to managing our resources is to know the words and gestures we need to use to express our willpower outwards. Focus on creatively expressing your will to transform your world. Next is What Should We Focus On This Week? The 8 of Cups reversed. Upright the 8 is almost like a vision quest, setting out to understand ourselves. Reversed is the prospect of sitting in our emotions, especially the uncomfortable ones. This doesn’t mean being overwhelmed by them, but it does mean that we cannot avoid them just because we don’t like them. How Do We Empower Ourselves This Week? is the Star. Such a powerful card! Along with your emotions, don’t forget to look at your hopes, your dreams and aspirations! Those things are your guiding star. I also tend to associate the stars with the Ancestors, so this might be a very good week to spend some time working on your Ancestor altar. What Should We Keep In Mind This Week? is the King of Pentacles. The grind. Stable. Tenacious. That’s how you are going to get ahead. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and you will get there. It’s not a race, be sure footed. Something We Have Been Avoiding That We Must Face This Week is the 10 of Cups reversed. Thought we had already covered this with the 8 of Cups didn’t you? Be careful of abandoning your dreams, and also of repeating Ancestral patterns A Card To Motivate Us is the 9 of Wands Keep pushing. Keep fighting the darkness within and without. We know you are tired but you are ALMOST THERE! This week's reading paints a picture of us doing the hard work to really change and being really close. That we are going to have to sit with the emotions that are asking us if we are really worthy, and what happens if we fail. We are going to be looking at our dreams, and what inspires us. We are going to be confronting what is the difference between help from the Ancestors and what is being trapped in dysfunctional family expectations and patterns. It sounds so daunting. We are walking in the woods at night, guided by a star, but at times we lose sight of the star. Fears creep in. Childhood stories of bad things that happen in the woods at night. Worry something or someone is watching you. But you have your torch, your ace of wands, and if you keep putting one foot in front of the other you will soon reach that clearing where the light of the star will return. You can do this. Magical Work If you don’t have a wand, this week is a good time to make one. Empower it with the elements, song and prayer. Decorate it, hold it aloft over a candle flame, or anoint it with oil. It is a focus for your inner fire. Keep it near you as you navigate the week. And when you have a moment alone, with a swish and a flick call forth your fire.
